Are you interested in participating in a family strengthening program for refugees?
You are invited to participate on a research study led by researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), our partners ICNA Relief and the Syrian Community Network (SCN), funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
This research study is developing and evaluating a family strengthening program called CAFES2 to help Arabic-speaking refugee families in Chicago. This family strengthening program is meant to help families cope with emotions and stress, improve and strengthen their family and social relationships.
$75 - $100 for your participation!

If you participate, you may be selected to participate in CAFES2 or to receive materials on healthy lifestyles.
The CAFES2 family strengthening program is a 6-week study that involves:
An initial meeting with your family
6 group meetings with other Arabic-speaking refugee families, led by trained facilitators
Surveys
$75-$100 incentives for participating
You may be eligible to participate if you:
Are a young person aged 12-17 years old or a parent or caregiver with at least one child that is at least 12 years old
Migrated to the U.S. from an Arabic-speaking country
Arrived in the U.S. as a refugee
